Introduction
These Affiliate Program Terms & Conditions govern participation in the MadeiraMaps Affiliate Program (“Affiliate Program”).
The Affiliate Program allows approved individuals and businesses (“Affiliates”) to promote MadeiraMaps through approved referral links and earn a commission on eligible purchases generated through those referrals.
In exchange for genuine promotion of MadeiraMaps, MadeiraMaps will pay Affiliates a percentage commission on qualifying transactions completed by customers referred through an Affiliate’s unique referral link.
These terms explain how referrals are tracked, how commissions are earned and paid, the promotional practices that are permitted, and the standards expected from all participants in the Affiliate Program.
By applying to or participating in the Affiliate Program, you agree to these Affiliate Program Terms & Conditions, together with MadeiraMaps’ applicable Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
1. Enrollment & Eligibility
1.1. Application
To participate in the Affiliate Program, applicants must complete the affiliate registration process and provide the information requested by MadeiraMaps, which may include:
- Full name or business name;
- Email address;
- Account or username information;
- Website and/or social media channels;
- Intended promotional method;
- Payment information; and
- Confirmation that the applicant agrees to these Affiliate Program Terms & Conditions.
1.2. Cost
Enrollment in the Affiliate Program is free unless otherwise expressly stated by MadeiraMaps.
1.3. Approval
Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance into the Affiliate Program.
MadeiraMaps reserves the right to approve, reject, suspend, or terminate an Affiliate account where it reasonably considers the applicant’s or Affiliate’s promotional activities unsuitable, misleading, unlawful, harmful to the MadeiraMaps brand, or otherwise inconsistent with these terms.
1.4. Accurate Information
Affiliates must provide accurate and up-to-date information and are responsible for maintaining correct contact and payment details.
MadeiraMaps is not responsible for delayed or failed payments resulting from incorrect information supplied by an Affiliate.
1.5. Legal Compliance
Affiliates are responsible for ensuring that their promotional activities comply with all laws and regulations applicable to them, including applicable:
- Advertising and marketing rules;
- Consumer protection laws;
- Privacy and data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) where applicable;
- Electronic communications and direct marketing requirements;
- Tax obligations; and
- Rules concerning disclosure of sponsored, commercial, or affiliate relationships.
1.6. Eligible Transactions
Unless otherwise stated by MadeiraMaps, commissions are earned only on qualifying transactions made by genuine new customers through a valid Affiliate referral.
MadeiraMaps may specify that certain products, services, promotions, renewals, transactions, or customer types are excluded from the Affiliate Program.
2. Commissions
2.1. Commission Rate
Affiliates earn a commission of [COMMISSION RATE]% on eligible transactions successfully attributed to their Affiliate account.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, commissions are calculated on the transaction subtotal excluding:
- VAT or other applicable taxes;
- Delivery or shipping charges;
- Payment processing fees;
- Discounts;
- Credits;
- Refunds; and
- Other non-commissionable charges.
2.2. Non-Commissionable Transactions
Unless MadeiraMaps expressly states otherwise, commissions will not be paid on:
- Refunded or cancelled transactions;
- Fraudulent transactions;
- Chargebacks;
- Transactions completed through the Affiliate’s own referral link;
- Transactions involving artificial or manipulated referrals;
- Transactions that cannot reasonably be attributed to the Affiliate;
- Purchases made in violation of these terms; or
- Products or services specifically excluded from the Affiliate Program.
2.3. Referral Tracking
Affiliate referrals are tracked using unique referral links and may use cookies or other tracking technologies.
The standard referral tracking period is [COOKIE DURATION] days from the date a potential customer clicks an Affiliate’s referral link.
Where a customer interacts with referral links from multiple Affiliates, MadeiraMaps may use a last-referral attribution model, meaning the most recent valid Affiliate referral recorded before the qualifying transaction receives the commission.
MadeiraMaps does not guarantee that every referral can be successfully tracked. Tracking may be affected by browser settings, privacy tools, cookie restrictions, ad blockers, technical issues, customer behaviour, or other circumstances outside MadeiraMaps’ control.
2.4. Changes to Commission Rates
MadeiraMaps may modify commission rates, eligible products or services, referral periods, or other commercial terms of the Affiliate Program.
Where reasonably possible, Affiliates will be notified of material changes before they take effect.
Changes will not retroactively reduce commissions that have already been validly earned and approved before the effective date of the change, except where fraud, error, refunds, chargebacks, or violations of these terms are identified.
3. Commission Validation & Payouts
3.1. Pending Commissions
New commissions may remain in a pending or validation period for [VALIDATION PERIOD] days to allow MadeiraMaps to account for refunds, cancellations, chargebacks, payment disputes, fraud, or other transaction issues.
3.2. Approved Commissions
A commission becomes eligible for payment only after:
- The applicable validation period has expired;
- The associated transaction remains valid and paid;
- No refund, cancellation, chargeback, or payment dispute applies;
- The referral complies with these terms; and
- Any applicable minimum payout threshold has been reached.
3.3. Minimum Payout
The minimum Affiliate payout amount is €[MINIMUM PAYOUT].
Where an Affiliate has not reached the minimum payout threshold, the approved balance will carry forward to the next payment period.
3.4. Payment Schedule
Eligible commissions are paid [MONTHLY / OTHER FREQUENCY] using [PAYMENT METHOD] or another payment method made available by MadeiraMaps.
Affiliates are responsible for providing valid and accurate payment information.
Any fees charged by the Affiliate’s payment provider, bank, or other intermediary are the responsibility of the Affiliate unless otherwise stated.
3.5. Taxes
Affiliates are responsible for declaring and paying any taxes, duties, social security contributions, or other obligations arising from commissions received through the Affiliate Program.
MadeiraMaps may request invoices, receipts, tax information, or other documentation where required by applicable law or accounting requirements.
